Baby vs. Brown Rice Cereal

This was Baby Girl's first experience with solid food. She liked it! It is so fun watching her experience even the simplest things for the first time. I think she liked the spoon most of all! I like this recipe because it is using brown rice instead of the traditional white. Utilizing your coffee grinder to make baby cereal is such a great idea! Make sure to clean it out really well! No caffeine for baby!

The Recipe:

1) 1 TS Short Grain Brown Rice: I got mine in bulk at Whole Foods.

2) 1 cup Water

3) A splash of BM or Formula if desired

With an Electric Coffee Grinder finely chop your rice into a flour. In a small sauce pan boil water and rice flour for 10 minutes. Stir frequently. Pour in a small bowl and stir mixture to allow to cool. I also would add a little cold water to thin the cereal. Add a splash of BM or formula for flavor.
